Jessica started her Ballet dance training (RAD) at the age of 3 at Dancers The Classical Pointe and thereafter, Modern dance (AIDT) at Dancers Avant-garde, at its inception, by age 12. Through Dancers, Jessica has done her advanced exams in both Ballet and Modern and competed in several competitions, eisteddfods and showcases; most notably, in the interval performance of Johannesburg Ballet Theatre’s ‘Don Quixote’ in 2014 as well as in an advertisement for Little Miss Black Shoes in 2019.
Separately, Jessica successfully auditioned for and then performed in Ballet Bugs showing of ‘The Happy Prince’ in 2006 and then in two of FNB’s prestigious ‘Dance Umbrella’ shows in 2012 and 2013. She also performed for the brand, Freddy Jeans, in their campaign against abused woman and children in 2020.
Other than performing, Jessica has also taken many workshops in Modern, Jazz and Lyrical dance with legendary directors such as: Debbie Rakusin, Quintus Jansen, Chase Bosch and more.
Since 2019, Jessica has taught syllabi, conditioning and choreography at Dancers Avant-garde under her facilitator, Amber Jones. In 2021, Jessica became certified in Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) as a preparation towards her Ballet teachers diploma (RAD) and has been a Ballet instructor at the Kirsty Lee Mansfield School of Ballet as well as a Contemporary instructor at Dance Culture Studios.
Jessica is also a Latin American and Ballroom competitor and regularly competes in competitions in and around South Africa. Through her journey in Latin American and Ballroom dance, she auditioned for and successfully appeared as a dancer in the KykNet series, ‘Diepe Waters’ in 2022.
Outside of dance, Jessica is studying towards her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and has a keen interest in digital marketing, brand induction and media.
